This home is lovely and comfortable, with sensational views of the surrounding dessert landscape and mountains from every angle. Our group enjoyed hanging out on the patio, firing up the chimenea, watching the mountains change color as the sun set, and then observing the night sky full of stars. We loved the art shops in nearby Tubac and visiting the historic Presidio there (a must-see attraction if you enjoy history). Another must is visiting the mission at Tumucacori, just a few minutes away. The only reason we didn't give this house 5 stars is a collection of nuisances/ disappointments that took off a star. Chief among them was the cleanliness of the home. On the surface, it is just fine. But when you look a little closer there is grime on the floor, especially in the corners and baseboards. When we arrived, the toilet in the main bathroom obviously had not been cleaned, as there was evidence of use by the previous guests, if you know what I mean. We ended up cleaning it ourselves. I was surprised at the condition of the bath towels, a collection of almost thread-bare, mismatched towels. We had to ask for extra toilet paper, as there were only three rolls when we arrived for a nine-night stay. And the home needed more glasses and plates. With that said, Andres, the manager, was fantastically responsive when we reached out. Our complaints are shared mostly with the hope that a little more atttention to details will make this home even better than it is.
