This is a unique house in a fantastic location: the mountain views (which you can take in through the floor-to-ceiling windows featured on one entire side of the house) are stunning, and change hourly and daily. The furniture is modern, yet comfortable, and perfectly decorated. Walking in felt like opening to the centerfold of "House Beautiful." Better yet, the house is well-appointed and cozy: the bed was great, the fireplace heated things up nicely, and I appreciated the array of pots, pans and condiments. Bring your old CD collection to test out the bangin' whole-house sound system!
The only small issue is privacy, in that there really isn't any inside. Though the house is isolated on a hill and we never saw nor heard another human, the interior of the house features an open ceiling throughout: no walls extend all the way up. The moment someone wakes up in the morning, everyone else kind of has to get up, too, because sound carries from the kitchen all the way back to the bedroom. And using the bathroom was interesting; my husband or I would crank up the sound system and ask the other person to sit across the room, since the toilet is separated from the couch only by a 6-inch-thick, 10-feet-high frosted glass wall). Make sure you stay here with someone you love and are comfortable with! This is NOT a good place for families or friend groups.
And be sure you have a four-wheel drive vehicle, particularly in the winter, or else you'll struggle to make it up the driveway!
