It is truly off the grid, very quiet with a beautiful view of thewater. We could hear the water from our house. We had everything we needed and the beach to ourselves.

We loved our stay at Eden Place! The listing is 100% accurate - beautiful beach, simple lifestyle and great escape. Dino was helpful at check in and around for anything we needed during our stay. Many stores, restaurants and great beaches nearby! Recommend getting a rental car/suv for your stay as there’s so much to explore on Eleuthera - Renee recommended a few options in advance!Biggest tip - read the guest book upon arrival. Past guests have left tips for the best beaches, places to eat and more. Eleuthera is a slice of Heaven and Eden Place is the best!

Basic Living

It’s unfortunate we had to leave a rather negative review. However, based upon the information provided in the listing we were left with a feeling of great disappointment.While Dino did his best to accommodate us and make our stay enjoyable the basic facts are; We had no running water for 5 1/2 out of seven days which meant we could not shower just a wash down from a bucket that Dino brought us.Even if we had water we could only have had a cold shower.A visual inspection of the shower propane heater revealed the casing to be burnt through in two places, with black sooting thus rendering it unsafe for use.We had to get buckets of seawater to flush the toilet.While we were told was a general local cut off we found out it was only the cabin the other locals all had water.I went to pick up my flannel during the night to wipe my hands and there was a live scorpion on the flannel ready to sting. Another night, a live rodent ran over my foot while I was sitting on the toilet.The cabin looks tired and rundown unlike the advertised photos, it requires a much needed refurbishment. Also, the sunloungers are broken and rusty along with the bbq.That being said Dino was incredibly helpful and offered us the use of his car at a competitive rate.The setting of this property is beyond idyllic with the beautiful blue turquoise waters empty beach and shoreline foliage. If you fancy being Robinson Crusoe for a week, it’s the ideal location.

Adventurous Island Getaway

This quaint cabin provided us with the exact experience my husband and I were looking for in the Bahamas. We spent 5 days learning the ways of life on Eleuthera, getting to snorkel just outside of the cabin, walk through the nearby town, and explore other parts of the island by car. There are incredible nearby beaches, easy access to the airport, and a welcoming community of locals and animals that made us feel at home. We paddle boarded almost every day out to our favorite coastline for snorkeling, and saw multiple stingrays, jelly fish, angel fish, and other beautiful tropicals creatures. It’s hard to not get attached to this simple, beautiful lifestyle!Special thank you to our hosts, who have been incredibly communicative, helpful, and bountiful with recommendations that made our stay so memorable!

Simple Life Paradise

This beach bungalow is heaven for those that want simple, natural beauty. It was a rare luxury to have such beautiful oceanfront all to ourselves. The bungalow had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Paddleboards available for exploring and excellent snorkeling just off the beach. Best to wait for low tide where you can make your way around the rocks. The road to the place is very rough, so a Jeep or some type of SUV is ideal. There are some very sweet/timid dogs that may stop by. They could benefit from any food/leftovers available, and flea meds (which are hard to find on the island). Absolutely wonderful, magical stay...we highly recommend this slice of paradise!

Short and sweet stay

We absolutely loved staying at this property. It was so relaxing and quiet. We only saw a couple people down the beach from us, but they did not stay so we had the beach mostly to ourselves. We had everything we needed and enjoyed the simplicity and quietness of this stay. Everyone we came into contact with while out and about we so friendly and accommodating. Dino was on point with any requests we needed and always did it with a smile. I would definitely recommend staying at this property. There are many stray dogs on the island and in all the towns. We tried to do what we could for the ones that came around the house by giving them fresh water and buying dog food. If you are an animal lover like we are I would bring flea medicine and food for them if you are able. Thanks again Dino!

Great time on Eleuthera

This off grid place was amazing, the ability to have a fire on the beach in the evening was spectacular. The photos matched the property as did the description. Given that it was cooler due to winter time having hot water would have made it perfect but the tenants were very clear that it wasn’t available. Honestly the people in the neighboring town were not very friendly and that was disappointing. The only significant recommendation we have for the place is to clean up the trash for appearance and the broken glass in the beach area.

Property is not as advertised! No working A/C, No working generator. Had to sleep outside with the sand flees in the heat due to the temperatures inside the cabin. Everything was run down and broken.

Comfortable simple cabin on the beach

This cabin was accurately described in the listing - it had all the basic necessities. The bed was comfortable and the living space was open with lots of windows. And of course, the beach with a lovely swimming area and no one else around was wonderful. Loved the hammock! We knew about the cold shower and were fine with that. The only downside was the resident dog (not Rain). He's young, friendly and playful. Also ill-mannered, mouthy, jumps up, nips at toes and legs and barks like a maniac whenever another person or dog comes in sight. We couldn't leave the front doors open as he would come inside. He also tried to steal a shoe and damaged a towel. Not sure of a solution. The hosts were very responsive and helpful in our planning - Dino even brought over a cooked lobster he had caught! Delicious! I would recommend staying at Eden Place for an off-the-grid, basic stay on beautiful Eleuthera.

Awesome adventure beach front

Property is amazing overall. Direct beachfront on picturesque beach. The house is fantastic. Great cross breeze when the wind is up. Dino and Renee were fantastic. Wifi was excellent, and portable! Enough outlets for charging. The only caveats are the driveway, which is a rock crawl that off roaders would love. So you need a vehicle with adequate ground clearance. 4x4 not necessary, but jeep or similar clearance, is mandatory. If you're driving to any beaches, you'll need it anyway. No hot water, but it's not really cold either, think swimming pool in the spring or fall. No freezer, but given the cost of groceries, eating out at local restaurants is a very reasonable option. Solar power, so if you use the A/C too long, you're going to have to wait for the sun too r charge the system. That doesn't affect the stove or fridge, they're on propane (or LNG?). A few concessions, but still well worth it. We would go back tomorrow.

Beautiful house on the beach

The location is just amazing, right on the beach, almost private since nobody uses it. The house is nice, had everything we needed. An suv is necessary to get there, the road has many rocks, and there is no hot water. As in the rest of the island they have issues with trash.

Cabin by the sea

What can be better than living a simple life in a cabin by the sea and waking up to see blue water and sand right from your bed. When you walk out the door, you are steps away from the beach and you can walk down the beach to town to enjoy some fabulous restaurants. Rain, the resident dog, was a treat to have around and usually accompanied us on our walks. We enjoyed our island tour with Dino and next time we will jump into Sapphire Hole! We can't wait to return to this amazing spot!

Wonderful peaceful stay

My mother and I stayed at Eden place for a week and Dino and Renee made us feel like community members. The place was adorable, clean and exactly what we wanted. It is a partially off grid cabin right on the beach which has beautiful turquoise water. There’s a dog who calls the beach home and guards the place while being a delightful companion to the guests the entire time. If you’re looking for an authentic local experience this is the place for you.

Wherever you are in the cabin, you’ll be able to see the ocean from the windows. The water has all shades of blue. If you have questions, the host will answer your questions in minutes. We truly enjoyed our stay there. We will come back for sure.

Off-grid in paradise

Eden Place's location is paradise. If you snorkel, the reef right off the beach in front of the cabin is gorgeous. It's remote, but not at the same time. It's close enough to town and the Queen's Highway that we never felt isolated. The Twin Brothers' restaurant is a 5-minute drive/10-minute walk from Eden Place and the food is amazing. It's also a short drive from two of our other favorite restaurants, the Rainbow Inn to the South and Daddy Joe's North of Gregory Town. The road to the house requires at least a small SUV. We only drove the road once to drop off our luggage. The rest of the week we parked in Alice Town and walked the 3 minutes to the cabin. There were a couple of cloudy days and one day without sun, so we did have to turn the solar system off a couple of times while it recharged. Luckily, we brought solar charging blocks for our electronics and two solar lamps. The cabin's solar set-up will run lights and charge the fan, but it's not built to charge phones, watches, earbuds, laptops, etc. There is water service so the pressure is good, but if you need a hot shower every day be aware that the cabin doesn't have hot water, but it is warmish in the afternoons. Eleuthera is a rural island so being conscious of water usage is not a bad thing at all. There are also local dogs around called pot-cakes. We had 2 that seemed to adopt us after we fed them :) Last note, bring the cleaning fee with you. The closest ATM is on Harbour Island.
