I’ll start by saying I’m not typically a 5 star review person. (Or a 1 star!). I’m a 2-4 star reviewer. So if you see a 5 star review from me, trust that you have found a good thing. This cabin is a good thing. You want to come here, and so does your dog(s). But not too often, I want to have it available to return to.
The cabin is fairly new, and well built (which we all know is not the norm for new builds anymore). It was well cleaned on arrival. The pictures you see in the profile are, in fact, accurate representations of the property. It’s a nice size cabin for 1-2 adults with with 1-2 dogs. We brought one, our 8 year old 70 pound husky-shepherd. She has been pouting since we returned and wants to go back. This place not only allows dogs, they love dogs. There are features to the property like an outside dog kennel (if needed), built with dogs in mind.
It’s well stocked, and all we needed to buy at the grocery store was food to cook, and paper goods like toilet paper - (although they have enough there for a day or two on the paper goods). My experience is usually you need to pick up “extras” at rentals to actually cook or eat. Good selection of dishes, cookware, utensils- including to grill outside.
The hosts were great. They communicated initially on booking, prior to arrival, and offered to take us around the larger property area on arrival. We took them up on it, and they did. Beautiful area, nice places to walk, and included a boat ramp with kayaks. Our dog wants to share that it was great sniffing, and she loved the ride in the jeep. We also met another person living there who runs a food truck for their event center. He was very friendly too, and we learned how all of the beautiful property set up came to be.
It was quiet, and a very serene, relaxing environment: a must for me on vacation. I was much calmer leaving then arriving. Admittedly not happy to leave though. Besides the kayak ramp and kayaks, this cabin is right off a lake that you can swim
in (you do need to drive-about a 5 minute drive). We went most evenings down to the swimming area, where I got my swimming in and our dog indulged in some water play. If you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle I recommend taking that as the actual cabin is up an unpaved road. My Suburu Outback is built for that stuff, (plus our dog likes to ride in it), so we brought that!
I confess I now want to move to Arkansas, and maybe one day we will. For now, I hope to be back soon.
