We had a great stay while our husbands/significant others played in a local men’s softball tourney. We BBQed on the huge deck, and enjoyed the time both in and out of the house. However, despite being such a beautiful listing we were naive to think central air would be expected. It was a weekend stay, with temps reaching 90+ and the thermostat set to 68 (when we initially assumed central air), the heat made being indoors or outdoors outright uncomfortable. We realized the morning after an extremely hot first night of tossing and turning—windows open too, that there were AC units in closets. I did not expect to have to be responsible for placing those in windows, nor did we want to disrupt our stay with the management company coming to do this for us, so we waited for the guys to return home and put in windows for us. This is a high risk to put on renters to do, for both the property and possible injury to the renter. Even with the AC units in, the back sitting area by the deck was too hot to comfortably sit in since there were only large panes of windows in that room that do not open. It was also unfortunate to know that the pool wasn’t being opened until mid-June (a week or two after our stay). But also a surprise to see no cover on the murky green water filled pool. We had a little puppy with us that we couldn’t let down in the yard to roam because of the lack of cover on the murky pool. If you can plan to open the pool at least a month earlier going forward, you’d have a lot of happy renters! (The summer is short enough as is in New England!) Despite the heat and lack of pool to cool us off, the management company was a pleasure to work with in the days leading to and during our stay! Kitchen was fully stocked and we enjoyed cooking each day. Would definitely come back if central air was installed!
