Minerva House

Minerva House is an icon of Saddleworth, nestled between Clare & The Barossa valleys, with the closest winery and cellar door only a 5 minute drive away, there is plenty to see and do.

The historic Martindale Hall is only 25 minutes away, and both Heysen & Lavender Federation trails are nearby.
The space
Minerva is full of character, sitting on 3 quarters of an acre of private gardens.

There are 3 generous bedrooms, 2 guest bedrooms with queen sized beds, and 2 single beds in the third bedroom, sleeping 6 comfortably (with trundles available on request for up to 8).

There is a large, recently renovated bathroom with heated floors for those cold country mornings, as well as shower over clawfoot tub.

The kitchen is fitted with a full size fridge, dishwasher, large oven and plenty of bench space with room to prepare pizzas for the Italian woodfire pizza oven in the garden.

There are multiple areas outside to enjoy food and wine from the local Clare Valley wineries, as well as a dining room adjacent to the kitchen.

The charming “Gilbert Valley Hotel” is a 1 minute walk away, with full restaurant and bar with affordable takeaway food and wine.
Guest access
Minerva House is self-contained with no others to share with.

Keys are accessed by keysafe, with code provided before arrival.

Minerva has a double garage for secure parking, as well as a large driveway to fit a caravan or motorhome.
Other things to note
Enjoy the historic walk, museum as well as a local cafe, op shop and Saddleworth Country market on the 1st Sunday of each month.

Minerva also has a surprise resident turtle, which is a favourite for kids.

Beautiful little country cottage
We loved this cozy little cottage, it was full of charm and character! The kids loved exploring the lovely gardens and toasting marshmallows over the fire pit at night. Lots of little added extras made the stay special, the beautiful decor, heated bathroom floor, fire in the lounge, cozy beds etc. It was a handy location to so many interesting places with wineries to visit and places to eat and visit. Thank you for having us!

A lovely base of operations
The location was perfect for access to the Heysen Trail, as well being within a stone's throw of the monthly town market. (First Sunday of every month) The house was spacious, well appointed, clean, and comfortable. The decor reflected the eclectic and bespoke elements of its architecture. We felt we were in a place that was warm, and loved.

Country living
Gorgeous old home with lots of character. Big bedrooms including the kitchen and bathroom. Clean with fresh white linen. Only critique was as the house was on the main road and the trucks were nosy at night and there were mice in the house due to the SA plague. Host, Ashley, was very helpful and had wood delivered for our fire. Stayed in touch and was friendly.

Lovely house with character
Unfortunately only had a one night stay in this lovely old home in Saddleworth. Full of character, bedrooms tastefully furnished - two large front bedrooms, smaller twin room, separate lounge, kitchen and dining. On the main road but quiet.

Minerva
Stunningly lovely house and garden, unsafe shower over unsteady claw footed bath without shower curtain but good water flow and temperature, light and spacious rooms, some of the pot plants needing soil and water, loss of food due to fridge conking out. Plenty of supplies. Great location in charming little town. Nice host. Thank you for a lovely few days. Stayz website being down made check-in stressful.
