The place was extremely old. Private room was not even worth $10. Dirty and misrepresent by pictures. Worst part BIG MOLD on the wall. It was only a bed in a space . Do not stay there at any cost.
The pictures on the website are out dated. It doesn't look at all as advertised. It's not the prettiest nor the ugliest but could be better.
We arrived at 1:10pm and requested for an early check in (i've had it with other hostels and hotels and no problem). They said mandatory at 2pm. The girls at the reception could be nicer. We went back at 2pm and it took them 30minutes for the check in, the room was clearly ready when we got there. Keeping this in mind, we didn’t get the towels by the check in, so much for waiting without towels.
The private room is spacious, the A/C works perfectly, the bathroom doesnt have hot water(at night the water is freezing!).
The breakfast would be a 4/10, coffee as bad as it could be. Not even free water by breakfast. For breakfast included you have to go EVERY morning downstairs to get a ticket. Maybe you could give a card or something to not make us go down.
We got back from the beach at sunset and waited 5minutes for the door to open because the receptionist was talking with some people.
Location is perfect, you have the pier by the army less than 5min walking, the malecon 8minutes walking.
With some upgrades the hostel could be way more.
The hostel is located in a great location. You can walk to the beach, downtown, and to the main shopping area. I was most impressed by how clean this place was! Andrea in particular went above and beyond to help guests and spoke great english!
Location is good! Breakfast is awesome! There’s always something going on at the bar! The rooms are pretty spacious but no hot water for the showers and the plumbing of the building kind of sucks. Also the WiFi is horrible but I think it’s like that on the whole island
Room:
Arrived in a horrible smelling room that was cleaned with all dirty water, literally smelled like garbage.
The room safe was broken so we couldn’t use it, they promised to replace it the same day but didn’t happen until our last night.
They turn off the power without first notifying the guests and will tell you they don’t know when the power for everything in the room will be turned on.
WiFi:
The WiFi speed is barely working. There is no useable bandwidth or speed to do anything except to send 1 message.
Suggestion: Spend little more money and go somewhere else, it is just not worth the price they charge for this place.
Great and popular hostel with good reason, it’s a nice vibe and great location

San Andres standard hotel
When we arrived the reserve was ignored. They just told that we reserved one day. They sent us to an alternative hotel. Everything was a mess but the actitud o the personal save this review.
it is very close to the airport, the main beach, food stores, restaurants, bars, clubs... Plus the stuff is very very very friendly and in that point i have to give a big thanks to CLARISA, XIMENA AND EDISON, all the time they made their best to solve all my requests and make me feel pretty welcome in the hostel....
at the beginning i was very worried about some things other people said in this rates but when i arrive to the hostel none of those points still being an issue, so be sore the hostel stuff works had every to improve their few weakness... I JUST LOVE this place and had an amazing vacations there!
100% recommended!

I had requested a double bed but was given a room with 2 single beds. after 2 nights I was forced to move to a room which was noisy and next to reception, but with a double bed. I refused and they found me another room, which I feel was inferior and quite dirty.
I was not very happy with the room quality, but the staff were great and very helpful and nice.
En general la experiencia dentro del hostal es agradable, en especial por sus variadas actividades dentro del sitio, siempre habrá algo por hacer, las distintas actividades son amenas para la integración entre todos.
