Rooms are small. TV volume has a limit which makes it hard to hear when the heater/fan is on. Free breakfast isn’t worth it unless you like oatmeal or waffles. “Heated pool” had no water in it. Tiny cheap soap bars in bathroom. Would not stay there again.

Nice place

Lovely property with very convenient location. It's a quick walk to Old Town and a very short drive to many restaurants. However, they advertised a heated outdoor pool but it was closed. They should notify people who make a reservation so the kids are not disappointed.

Ideal for the budget-conscious road warrior.

This is much more of a road warrior's place than tourist. The "cons" are that it is in an industrial neighborhood and not Old Town proper, and that the rooms are exterior entry. There are many "pros", among them are the rooms being large, and while basic, very up-to-date, central location for whatever your business you have to do, and a short drive (or ride share) to downtown, it is near the very cool Liberty Station complex, good shower, comfortable bed. And of course, the very reasonable price. This is where I'm staying for business in San Diego from now on.

The staff at this property is great. So helpful and friendly each time I’ve have to deal with them. Well worth the cost. There is a transportation center within walking distance for those who need to catch the trolley, Amtrak, bus, or Coaster. Parking is free and has been plentiful during our visit. We definitely plan on staying again in the future when the need arises.

Solid budget option

A nice budget friendly option. Front desk employees are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a nice convenience. Currently the pool is under construction. It is not listed as an amenity but the hotel cover photo is of the pool, so that is a bit misleading if you don't look carefully at the amenities. Also, the area is not safe for walking. It's close to Old Town, but the two blocks doesn't feel safe to walk at night due to some unsavory local characters. If you are driving, then it is very close and convenient to a number of big box stores, etc. There was a kitchenette in the room but you have to ask for plates, etc and there's no cooking equipment (maybe you have to ask?) so that's a bit odd. Overall, a very nice spot but definitely be mindful of safety when around the hotel.

I have stayed in this hotel twice. I like the room size and cleanliness. The room has oven and microwave and refrigerator so whatever you need it is available. Also, we get a kids movie from the front disk and play it for our child as we have DVD player in the room. Only one negative part about this hotel is breakfast does not have too many options to eat.

We had quite a few problems with our room. Fireplace didn't workWe had problems with the jacuzzy.The vent wasn't working, and it smelt like mildew. Josh was awesome at the front desk. Although we didn't have a great time there. Location is prime and will stay there again. They don't have to put on this about a ten million valuation.I'm sure the same level start the issue that clima

Free parking in San Diego!

Older hotel, but it's clear they are making strides to bring the class up a little. Rooms have DVD players and you can check out box office slayers for free (I did not). It was very clean, but very clearly not a new facility. Free parking was the clencher for me. Short walk (be careful!) to transit center. Next door to County Mental Health facility but property is well shielded from it. I was happy with it in general.
