Factor in the property has been around for some time and the property location is in the middle of a big city. There are transients near but that's expected. No issues with them on the property. The rooms were clean, bed comfortable and front desk gentleman was very nice and helpful. We did not use the pool or gym but was very clean from the looks of it. Cons: no refrigerator or microwave.

this place was a dump, dirty outside and inside my room, the smell was bad area didn’t feel safe. I had to get another hotel. Don’t stay here. smells like mold and the comforter had a stain I felt like I got catfished because pictures looked great on the app It was a bad area, didn’t feel safe. I had to get another hotel for the same price not too far away that was so much better. Don’t stay here.

I recently traveled to San Francisco with my family (wife, 3 year old, infant) to see a Giants and A's game. The soma house was cost friendly and close to everything. Ten minutes to pier 39 where we spent both of our days and ten minutes from the Giants park. Just across the bridge for the A's game. The staff was super friendly and the valet parking with the kids was great. The breakfast wasn't anything special but just what we needed being offered on site so we didn't have to leave. The walls were kind of thin but whatever. The room was super clean and they cleaned everyday. The pool was awesome heated rooftop. The area is not the greatest but they do have security outside and I never felt unsafe inside the property one time. Thanks for the stay.

I would choose the place again, it is perfect to walk around to city hall. nice hidden places to eat around. short drive from main entertainment areas. Room was clean and service was good.

No a/c in the room which was pretty rough, and the window didn't open all the way. Gym is basically a glass box in the middle of a bunch of rooms so it felt kind of weird. Maybe they can frost the windows or something? Really friendly and accommodating staff. They were the best part!

I’m glad the hotel honored the free parking from when I booked it months prior, because it’s now over $60 a night. I’ve stayed here twice before and the room I got this time was half the size, and they even said they upgraded me??? Luckily I was by myself, so I didn’t need much room. The bed was extremely comfortable and probably my favorite thing about the place. There is no water pressure in the shower, so that was unfortunate. Also, there is no AC, and the window doesn’t open, only a ceiling fan over the bed. I was definitely sweating trying to get ready in the mornings. The pool area looks nice, but every time I’ve stayed has been for events, so I never have time to use it. I more than likely won’t be staying here again because the price just isn’t justified with what you get. I will say again though that the beds are very comfy!

This hotel is not as advertised in the photos. The breakfast the first day was old bagels, green oranges, and tubes of cream cheese with no cutlery. We were told that they were out of breakfast by 9am. There is no lobby bathroom due to construction at the hotel. Parking was $60/nt plus tax. Neighbourhood is in transition and includes several small restaurants and coffee shops with a large homeless population throughout the neighbourhood. Makes walking during the evening a bit less comfortable. The hotel is run down and the rooms have no air conditioning so it was very humid and stuffy during our whole stay. Overall, would not recommend, particularly for a family. The manager was unwilling to offer any compensation or apology for the situation. Front desk staff were helpful and apologetic.

Way overpriced for the room and amenities. pool small, continental breakfast was hardly a breakfast, and the room had no ac fridge or microwave. Plus tons of extra fées applied. The valet was very expensive and honestly made getting in and out of my car more inconvenient (but with hardly any other parking options near by it was the best choice). the staff was nice but the cost and amenities made the stay with Soma not worth it.

Hotel alone was nice, receptionist were nice. The hotel room did have a lot of wrappers behind the couch, but otherwise beds, bathroom were all clean. Did not feel safe walking anywhere near the hotel, a lot of homeless people and needles on ground.
