What I loved: the wraparound balcony, rainforest sounds, lovely back yard, hanging hammock, adorable rooms, beach amenities, and the living room.
What to know beforehand: the roosters and dogs begin their sounds after dark and countinue until morning- I can normally sleep through anything because I have eight dogs myself, but this was really difficult for me so I recommend bringing earplugs.
The biggest deal for me was the shower, because I was not aware that it was solar heated. Is solar heated in the same way that camp showers are solar heated where you put a bag of water in the sun and let it heat up. So I was surprised when I took a shower in the morning and I could only get it to be room temperature. Now I know it's because everyone used up the hot water the night before and the water has no way of heating up without the sun. I think this is not a problem if you are aware of it and plan accordingly taking showers only at night to get the hottest shower.
The host was very quick to respond to my shower questions and help right away
All in all, it was a great experience, and I appreciate them renting out their home
