It was fine, but nothing special, particularly for the price. The rooms and area were relatively generic and you feel like you are one of hundreds of people staying there. There is an upcharge for everything with high parking and resort fees.

The Royal Sonesta was very clean, well kept and had friendly staff, especially at the front desk. The pool area is nice and there is lounge and umbrella service on the beach, which we enjoyed more than the pool area. The dining options are good, even delivery to the beach. The outdoor bar by the lobby is very enjoyable with the fire pit. The El San Juan Hotel is right next door and there are many options there for eating and dancing otherwise we did not walk anywhere else except a few blocks to the drugstore (great place to get own supply of beer and alcohol). The big surprise for us was how very expensive Ubers were. Our ride from the airport on a Monday at 11am was $40 because of a $24 surcharge for busy time. A ride to Old San Juan, one way, over $25. Apparently taxis aren’t much cheaper.

Best Customer service I ever experienced. Some went out of their way to help find a water bottle that was left on the beach. I reported it and it took a team to retrieve it.

This hotel is on the absolute best strip of beach! Flat, beautiful sand, swim friendly with nice waves. Beach chairs and umbrellas were plentiful, staff very helpful. Room was very nice, kept well. We loved our stay but food could definitely use improving.

The place was lovely, beach was amazing. If you are going for the pool, nit sure my rating would be as high. It was crowded. But at beach We always got chairs, and towels aplenty. Room was nicely updated and housekeeping was top notch.

We had cockroaches in our bathroom and our sleeping are. They did move us to another room, which was clean. When I complained, they were very respectful of me and they took off two days worth of resort fees. Very professional and understanding. The hotel furnishings definitely needs updating.

The staff at this property are so friendly and welcoming, especially our housekeeper Hilton. Everything is clean and the restaurants are good with excellent service. No complaints, would stay here again.

Family vacation. We had stayed at a stupendous resort prior to this so that augmented our mediocre at best experience here. For the prices and “resort” fees, having enough lounge chairs and umbrellas at the pool is a must. Also, other amenities (kayaks, water bottles in the rooms, etc.) should be included as they are in other resorts. Not sure when it was updated but it already looks rough, room smelled humid and a tad moldy. Overall, would not return.
