I arrived at the Pelican on Oct 29th . After seeing the room I was given ( Room 7), I immediately called their office number provided and informed them that the room did not look as pictured, was dirty , smelled like cigarettes , old blankets/ sheet cover, cob webs, broken restroom drain covers in danger of causing harm, and mold.
They informed me that I should stay the night and they will provide another room.
A new room was not provided the following day, and the room ended up flooding along with other rooms on the 1st floor.
On the 3rd day they informed me that I would be moved to another hotel ( BALI).
The Bali hotel was presentable and the staff was friendly , except for the lights being out on 2 occasions I would definitely stay at the Bali again.
After arriving at the Bali I realized I had what appeared to be mosquito bites, unfortunately which would not have went away for the next few days as to which I can only imagine came from the Pelican.
I would rate Pelican for a 8 on their service recovery as they provided a solution to my concerns. However they did not follow up after I informed them of the bug concern.
I would also have to be fair to add that another person that was staying at the Pelican stated and showed me that their room was not as bad as mine.
The building is dated and has flooding issues during heavy rain.
