Overall I enjoyed my stay. The unit is very cute and comfortable, the owner was responsive, and the neighborhood was quiet. Regretfully, I did experience one issue though. I spent the weekend in Sarasota for my birthday, and as a treat to myself, I wanted only two things out of the trip: 1. I wanted to go to my favorite museum (the Ringling) and 2. I wanted to spend time in a hot tub. What can I say, I enjoy the simple things. So I filtered my search results on Vrbo for a property in the area that had a hot tub. This listing was one of maybe 3 that came up as including a hot tub, and it looked charming so I booked it. Vrbo prompted me to send a message to the host, so I sent one that said, "Hi! I can't wait to stay here, and I'm looking forward to using the hot tub!" The host responded courteously, and we kept in touch ahead of my arrival about where to park and how to access the entrance -- all the usual stuff. So I arrive on Friday night and I message the host saying, "I just arrived, everything looks great! How do I access the hot tub? I didn't see it on my way in, is it around back" You can probably guess where this is going but it turns out there was no hot tub. The owner said he didn't know how the listing came to include a hot tub and seemed baffled (even though I mentioned it in my first message to him). He was very sorry and did try to make it right by issuing a partial refund which I'm thankful for, but I was still so bummed. It was a pleasant stay otherwise though.
