This was a last minute trip to Carmel for a friend's July 4th party. We know the area a bit, and didn't want to pay $5000/night for an ocean view! I knew a bit about Seaside, so checked out the booking and it looked fine.
Seaside is NOT tony Carmel/Monterey... it is a residential community/suburb that used to serve the now closed Fort Ord. The unit is a very private casita behind the main house. It has a sauna and a jacuzzi, as well as a large patio area. All the fixtures, etc. are fairly new and the pictures in the listing are accurate. The host actually stocks the unit with food, snacks, and drinks! We actually made a couple of breakfast of fresh fruit, toast, eggs, coffee, etc. from the food provided. There is even a high-end Nespresso machine to make great coffee. This was quite a luxury!
The host, Sharif, was very communicative by text. He met us as we arrived and showed us around. We decided to stay an extra night to avoid the holiday traffic and Sharif made that very easy. Entry and access is by key and digital lock.
Other things: Sharif recommended a few places for dining and they were spot on.
The location in Seaside is actually somewhat centrally located, so access to Monterey, Carmel, etc. was quite easy.
The main house is under construction, but the casita area is private and we never heard or saw any of it.
Would definitely stay again!
