Ideal family base for a short break
We were a family of 5 (2 adults, 2 kids under seven and one grandparent) and we stayed at Purley for three nights. The property is well sized and sparingly but tastefully furnished. The kitchen has lots of kids crockery but the board games are ancient or have bits missing so bring your own. The outdoor space at the back needs some love and isn’t very child friendly (brambles, steep uneven steps) but we didn’t spend much time there as the beach is 5 mins walk away. After getting soaked and cold on some blustery coastal walks it was great to come back to a cosy, warm house. The property is right in the heart of Beer which is a picturesque fishing village and there is huge Tesco in Seaton less than 10 mins away for supplies. The parking space is outside the front door and is quite small, suitable for a small- to midsize car. The only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the floors and surfaces very dusty on arrival and we had to go over it with a hoover.
