This condo has been recently updated in just enough ways to make the pictures look much better than the actual state of the house. Fresh paint, fresh clean furniture, new light fixtures, etc. No attention was given to things like functioning drawers/doors/furniture, supplies for the kitchen, reasonable bath towels/sheets, and overall care of the property (trim paint, state of the bathrooms, sinks not draining, etc.). The sheets and towels are so bad here that we had to buy new sets for our stay from dollar general. And yes, dollar general was better quality than what was provided.
The condo building is also very old and in need of updating and repairs. This condo in particular is on the equivalent of the 4th floor with no elevator. While the listing didn’t say is was accessible, it also didn’t expressly mention it wasn’t. A week of going up and down 4 flights of stairs with all your children and beach gear is rough. One plus, the pool area was beautiful and in great condition.
My final complaint: after we left the owner billed the rental insurance for a lost band. We were very cautious, counted and placed all bands, beach towels, and parking passes back into their spots. It was the last thing I checked when locking up.
There’s plenty of beautiful places along the NC coast to stay. I’ve stayed in more than a dozen and have never been disappointed before this trip. Go find a different place.
