The property is located in the picturesque town of Sambugaro, ‘Sambüie’ in the heart of the Verzasca Valley and a 15-minute walk from the famous Ponte dei Salti and the Verzasca River. Here guests will also find a popular swimming spot, for people who are brave enough to take a dip in the refreshing water. Adventurers can also try a day out canyoning from the Ponte Bivio Corippo (a 7-minute drive). There are two restaurants within a 10-minute walk (a 3-minute drive) and a grocery store a 10-minute walk away.
For something more refined, the beautiful city of Locarno, on the shores of Lake Maggiore, is 30-minute drive away. Here guests can pick up the best local produce at the farmers market every Thursday in Piazza Grande where there are also stalls selling regional crafts, second-hand clothes and books.
Popular excursions include a trip to the town of Bellinzona (a 40-minute drive), a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its 3 medieval castles, and if you miss the Locarno market, then Bellinzona’s weekly market (Saturday morning) is one of the best in the region.
The closest international airport is Milan Malpensa, a 1 hour 50-minute drive. Public transport options are limited, so a car is recommended to fully explore the surrounding areas.
