Holiday Inn Southampton

One night stopover in a great hotel. The staff were friendly and attentive. The rooms recently refurbed were immaculate. Fabulous bathroom and a comfy bed. Great breakfast with plenty of different food items.

Great place to stay to before cruise

Hotel is under construction, which looks horrible from the outside, but most of the inside is beautiful. Restaurant food was delicious and the drinks were very good. Beds were extremely comfortable and rooms clean. Would definitely stay there again.

Lovely stay and the hotel is immaculate. Bathroom is very cosy. Bed is super comfy! We have a lovely view of the docks. Buildings works happening but closed off and the works didn’t start until a very reasonable time in the morning. We will be staying again!

Terrible experience overall - the hotel was in refurb which I wasn't aware of but it made a number of facilities makeshift. Moreover though I specifically booked a double bedded room but was given a twin and there was no availability for me to move. The bathroom was large (it was an accessible room) however there were large frosted windows with no curtains and there was no heating in there - the whole bedroom itself was freezing too and the small heater didn't appear to work properly nor effectively.

Great Rooms, Sleep & Food!

Great stay, rooms are beautiful and the renovation in the rooms is really good! The hotel still has a lot of work going on but the rooms are clean, warm and very comfortable. The staff are friendly polite and the breakfast was great! The lady this morning was absolutely brilliant, caring and asked if we needed anything else. Breakfast was a great standard - well done team! One of the nicest hotel stays!

Great beds!

Bar only had 4 tables and I had a group of 30 meeting for drinks and dinner. We filled the bar and we’re almost the only ones there and in the dining room.

Our room was large but bathroom cold and no towel rail etc . Shower was for a disabled person and the curtain was discoloured and looked grubby. There was also nowhere in bathroom to put toilet bags etc a shelf would have been useful. The room also had a connecting door to the next room and the person next door was very loud and this was disturbing. The bed was not as advertised and only a double dispute staff saying it was 2singles together it was not and only a normal double. Very disappointed but food and staff were good.

Terribly Noisy

Was not warned about ongoing construction work until check in. We were told that it would be between 1000 and 1600hrs. It was so loud during the day that it was impossible to make or receive calls in the room. What’s more work started, albeit a bit quieter, before 0830hrs on the Saturday morning- waking us up earlier than intended after a flight back from the Caribbean.
