I was excited to see it listed since we stayed back in 2017. However, I'm disappointed in the shape of the house and the cleanliness.
While the host was quick to respond, I had to reach out the day before the trip to get the check-in instructions which was a first. He did allow us to check-in an hour early.
You could tell the house was recently painted, I'm assuming from damage caused by hurricane Beryl, because there was a used paint brush shoved behind the couch cushion, one of the comforters was stuck to the wall from paint, and painters tape left on the wall in one of the bathrooms. The towel holders weren't put back on the wall properly in one of the bathrooms. The toilets were loose and would move when sat on. There were one or two holes in the walls as well.
The mattresses and pillows need to be updated. Quite a few of the pillows has huge brown stains on them and were musty. More than one of us woke up in pain from the metal bar of the bed frame as there is no box spring under the thin mattresses. The foam topper did nothing to help.
There were dead bugs throughout the house when we arrived, which isn't unusual, but significantly more than the other houses we've stayed at. A bedroom door had what looked like dried blood on the back with other stains. There were hairs left in the shower. And the wall unit that blows directly over the stove was disgusting.
Overall, the house is great for large groups. However, the upkeep needs some improvement.
