I have so few regrets in life, but booking just one night at this “hotel” is one of them.
The room was either not cleaned at all before we checked in, or they just changed the sheets and called it a day. We found hair from potentially multiple other people all over the bathroom, and the towels were so dingy, we couldn’t tell if they’d been washed or not, so we opted to air dry. We didn’t feel comfortable taking a shower in the room, which must have been the right decision, as I heard another guest checking out tell the concierge that their tub wouldn’t drain.
We turned the air conditioner on when we got in (which looked like a relic from 1994), and were hit with a scent that can only be described as urine meets mold. We opted for the fan setting instead of AC, which was only slightly less offensive. We saw guests on the second floor with their doors open, instead of using the AC unit, but we were on the ground floor and didn’t want to leave our doors open to the general public at the Wendy’s drive through next door.
While the sheets were clean, the mattress cover was not, as I’m sure the spider in the corner of our room could see. Every time I turned my body to (try to) get comfortable in bed, the box springs sang out with displeasure.
If you’re like me, and read one or two reviews about lack of cleanliness and are thinking, certainly they’re just bougie or picky, think again. I almost never leave reviews, but this was my worst hotel experience ever.
