Gut: Sauberkeit, Personal & Service, Zustand der Unterkunft und Komfort des Zimmers
This historical hotel has been nicely updated and recreated with charm. The rooms are uniquely cocktail themed and include a complimentary canned cocktail. The Margarita room was spacious and clean. The room and location of the hotel was the Peninsula’s saving grace.
The Peninsula falls short in hospitality, with no management in sight, and the staff member I did run into had a heavy language barrier and I was unable to communicate with her. Our room was never cleaned despite not having a Do Not Disturb sign on it. Things they could improve on moving forward: what number are we to text for questions? The one I did text never replied, and the one listed on the information sheet said to be used for emergencies. Are breakfast tables bussed? I felt rude leaving my plate behind but there was no place designated for it. A menu for options available for snacks and beverages to be stocked and at what cost (since stocking was offered). A fan for the room since you can’t turn it below 72 and it was stuffy. Do you HAVE to purchase beach towels or can you just use them? It wasn’t very clear. A nice mocktail option. A better breakfast variety. A bar that’s open more, since you are called Peninsula Bed and Cocktails.
Ultimately, this was more of an Airbnb vibe. I enjoyed the contactless check in and check out but hoped for a bit more hospitality.
