We stayed for 28 days, and we got to know the condo like our home iin that amount of time.
Our initial impression of the condo upon walking in was that it was bright, clean and lovely. The location was absolutely perfect for us. It was a very short walk to the Pier, all of the downtown shops, churches, restaurants and the ocean. We even joined the locals in decorating the downtown area with Christmas lights the first Saturday we were there, and attended a Christmas Eve service at the First Baptist Church.
Robin, whom we dealt with for most problems, was fantastic. She always responded quickly, helping us figure out how to work the TV, fixing the carbon monoxide monitor that went off in the middle of the night (we lost a lot of sleep that night, but Robin was there first thing the next morning), repairing the door lock that quit working, delivering cleaning supplies and a mop and bringing a plumber when a plastic bolt broke and fell out of the main bathroom sink. Every problem was handled quickly and efficiently, communication was easy and fast.
We had an altercation with the host, about a plumbing problem in the main bathroom. I will not go into details except to say we lost the use of the main bathroom sink for 9 days (30% of our rental time), therefore we felt a discount was in order because of the inconvenience. He strongly disagreed, and said we were trying to take advantage of him. We think we were the ones at a disadvantage and had not received what we had paid for.
Here are things in our opinion, that need to be addressed at the condo. Our initial impression upon getting squared away, changed. The comforter in the master bedroom was dirty and had a really bad stain on it, and we had to immediately wash it. There was mold in both bathrooms and a sewage smell coming from the bathtub drain. We kept the drain covered the whole time. There was accumulated dust on the ceiling fans, the living area curtains were dirty, the rug under the dining room table was badly stained, the return air vents in the hall and ceiling need to be cleaned and repainted, there should be a light in the stairwell in the daytime, as the steps are hard to see. Also, the parking lot is dim, and the chocks are easy to trip over in the dark. There was peeling paint in the 2nd BR window, as well as closet ceiling was peeling off. The back deck & furniture were so dirty, they were unusable.
