We love Ocean Walk. This condo was overall clean, but a bit underwhelming.
First, it didn’t smell fresh when we checked in. (Slight cigarette smoke odor.)
Second, the kitchen was equipped very basically for us, but we do a lot of cooking. We made do. Also, the refrigerator was left on too cold a setting and we didn’t realize it until most of our food froze, so we lost lots of fresh produce. Our fault, but still disappointing.
Blackout curtains should be in the bedrooms. These are sheer and don’t block lights from cars at night or the sunrise. Also, the curtains were hung backwards in one bedroom—a detail I can’t help pointing out coming from the hotel business. :)
Last, but most importantly, we left a souvenir bracelet in the bedroom and called before we were even off the island with very specific instructions on its location—hoping it could be mailed to us. Despite a quick return call promising to mail it if found, we never received follow up, even after leaving another message. I know sometimes guests are wrong when they think they’ve left something behind, but we knew its precise location in the bedroom. Communication between Hodnett Cooper and the cleaning service and back to us was completely lacking.
We liked that there were plenty of towels and enjoyed playing St. Simonopoly! Overall, we would return and be better prepared with kitchen supplies.
