We stayed in Beary Cozy, a clean well-appointed cabin with a nice kitchen that had everything we needed. The overall setup was cute, but there were several issues that impacted our stay.
Unfortunately, there were no curtains or blinds on the main double doors, meaning headlights from passing cars shined directly into the cabin while we sat on the couch. Upon arrival, we noticed the L-shaped couch had a broken leg, and one of its cushions had a large dent. We reported this immediately with pictures, but received no response.
The hot tub was also underwhelming, as only the left side produced bubbles, so we had to take turns enjoying it. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable, but the extra pillows helped.
Things took a serious turn the next morning when a storm caused a power outage and several trees fell around the property. Though the utility company quickly resolved the initial outage, more trees fell, and we lost power again. Concerned for our safety, we made the difficult decision to leave a day early.
When we called to inform the host, she was very kind and told us not to worry about the late checkout. However, we were leaving a day early, not just checking out late. We had checked in on Thursday evening and left before noon on Friday, though we had originally planned to stay until Saturday.
While the cabin had potential, the issues we encountered, along with the storm, unfortunately cut our trip short.
