Highlights: the property's location near Edgewood, shopping, and the beach. The convenience added value to the trip. I commend Vacasa's responsiveness, which helped enhance our overall experience.
Lowlights: Strong odor of pet urine indoors was an immediate concern. Tiny master bathroom and mold in the shower. The intrusion of a motion-sensing security light affecting sleep, along with inadequate blinds compromising rest and privacy.
The backyard was also marred by an enduring pet urine odor and our discovery of dog feces needed attention.
Issues continued as ants infiltrated the kitchen despite closed windows. Although Raid helped, the ant issue persisted. More alarmingly, evidence of a rat in the living area and kitchen raised discomfort and safety concerns. Chewed bananas and bagels, paw prints on kitchen counter, rat trap behind the couch and rat droppings in kitchen were clear indicators. Vacasa knew of this issue before and during my stay.
Lastly, encountering another giant gray rat near the deck during hot tub use added to the discomfort. We couldn’t relax and Vacasa's suggestion of procuring rat traps ourselves was laughable.
My intent in sharing these experiences is not solely to express discontent but to offer an accurate perspective. While the property's prime location and Lake Tahoe's beauty are undeniable, the $$$$ paid for three nights did not align with the range of issues – odors, mold, ants, rats, feces, and insufficient resolutions.
