Cleaners decided not to clean room and gave us towels and tea bags instead. The following day although cleaners cleaned room they didn't leave any milk. Went to Reception and the Receptionist was on phone for 10 minutes and ignored me. Finally found a male member of staff who appeared to think the lack of milk was wasn't a major issue and almost tutted at me.
Need to also mention the bathroom needs to be refurbished as mold all around the bath.

Not what I expected
On arrival the hotel main building and reception looked good but when checking into the room which was in the extension this was not what was on the photos, badly in need of a refurb
After getting upgraded to one of the new rooms, this was excellent and worthy of the photos and what was expected.
Dinner, the menu was limited so I went for the steak which was nice although I did have to ask for more cutlery and a steak knife as was not given after my starter, but a nice meal
once in the room the heating was automatically switched off at 10.00pm, in winter this is not acceptable and the room got very cold, when asking at reception they gave up a portable heater which was not much use.
Returning to the bar at 11pm I found it closed, and this was because the hotel was quiet, fair enough but there was no room service available
I decided to check out the Saturday morning and not stay a 2nd night and received a full refund, so fair play for that

Lovely country hotel
Staff brilliant friendly and helpful.
Food fresh and hot .
Bed awful , mattress hard and duvets need replacing ours only three quarters filling in there spent 2 sleepless nights as cold ( heating goes off ).
Water nice and hot.
Nice hostess tray.
Brilliant hotel if you don't mind lack of sleep.

Staff were lovely
I don't think the hotel is worth what we paid, we were on the ground floor with window restrictors so the room was really hot, the shower was awful no power at all and for the price I expected a little wow factor
