We rented Jeff and Jess’s lakefront home with our daughter’s family and our dogs. The location is absolutely beautiful, with a large yard on the lake and amazing views of the surrounding mountains. The kayaks and canoe allowed us to get out on the water. The dock and chairs on the lawn and deck gave us plenty of options to sit and relax. There was lots of nature all around us; loons, “peepers” and bullfrogs provided quite the symphony. We even saw a mama snapping turtle dig her nest and lay eggs in the yard! As expected in Maine in June, there were also plenty of biting insects. Don’t forget the bug spray!!
The home itself was clean, comfortable, and as listed. The many windows at the front of the house allowed lake and mountain views from the kitchen, dining area, living room, and master bedroom. The second bedroom and loft area did lack airflow due to small windows. The beds that were slept in were very comfortable and the crib was convenient for our one year old grandson.
Plenty of towels were supplied and the kitchen was stocked with basic pots and pans, etc. There were games and books if the weather forced us indoors and there were 3 TVs.
The neighborhood was quiet, although sound did travel quite a bit over the lake. The activity on the lake itself was relatively mild with mostly kayaks, canoes, and pontoon boats.
We would definitely recommend a stay at this home and plan to return in the future. Jeff & Jess quickly responded to our questions and concerns and were lovely hosts. We feel fortunate to have spent time in their beautiful home making memories with our family.
