The Rectory Manor is a beautiful country house situated in the picturesque village of Great Waldingfield, and only a few miles outside of the picture postcard village of Lavenham. The service throughout was exceptional, with email updates and details of how to get there provide by the owner, Frank Lawrenson, well in advance of our visit, to a terrific and warm reception from the property manager Joanne Cooke, when we arrived. The entire house is wonderfully presented with stunning art and lovely old photos of the Family history on display. The room we had was nothing short of incredible and would easily rival that of a Fairmont or St. Regis, it was that good. A lovely bedroom, with a four poster bed that was incredibly comfortable, and a bathroom fit for royalty. The breakfast was fantastic and very generous, using local produce. Frank, Joanne and the team were very friendly and genuine. They all seemed to enjoy what they do. Given the pandemic, and the additional rules that need to be followed, they made everything look effortless and you almost forget that we are still on the midst of a pandemic. It was true escapism. I noticed an article in the lounge that the Rectory Manor was a finalist in 2019 for best Bed and Breakfast place, and from what my Wife and I experienced, that is no surprise. It is a wonderful place and for me one for the finest places I have ever stayed in the world, and I am very well travelled. I could not recommend this place enough. Wonderful memories!
