First of all, Sugarcreek is adorable! It is just a bit east of Berlin & Walnut creek and much more residential but has lots of fun architecture. You can walk to the downtown area from this house, no problem. We went at the end of March for Spring Break and unfortunately, lots of the little shops were closed. Make sure you stop by the little bulk store on the way out and bring a cooler to take home all the yummy cheeses.
Now the actual house... it was perfect for our stay. The host was easily contactable, and the house was very clean and comfortable. They even had a few snacks which was great since there aren't really stores close by.
We traveled with 2 sisters and a 12, 10 and 4 yrs old. Our favorite things were the Coblentz Chocolate store, Herschberger's Farm (do the petting zoo! It is great!), and dinner at Dutch Valley. Bring everything you need with you but if you really need to go to a regular store, New Philadelphia is about 10 minutes east.
We had no complaints about our stay at all. My only note is that the bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs and, man, those stairs are steep and it is dark in there! Leave the livingroom light on when you go to bed or getting up in the middle of the night is a lesson in bravery. :)
Thank you for your hospitality!
