The place is excellent, but our experience with the property manager, not so much!
The check-in process was really smooth. The house is very secure and there is an undercover car port to park the car. Large backyard which is wonderful for families. Rooms were spacious, and kitchen was central to all rooms which was nice! Washer and dryer is an added bonus. Overall, a cozy house that caters to a family wanting a short getaway!
However, now comes the issue. On day one, after a long day of travel to Phillip Island, we get to the accommodation to prepare dinner and wind down, just to realise the ignition on the stove was not working. We were not told this, and my text message to the property manager was not answered. So I called her asking what to do, and her response was “yea it’s not working, you need to use matches / gas lighter”. After searching for matches & gas lighter, I rang her back and told her we couldn’t find any matches, and her response was “I don’t know where it is, but I know it’s there”. She kept telling us to look properly and then said “I can’t help you”. I told her she could have helped by telling us earlier so that we could have bought supplies, she then asked if I want her to drive to the property to pass some matches. I told her that if she could do that it would be good as I have to feed my child, and she asked again if I really expected her to do that since she lives 15 minutes away, and it was 8pm. I told her I would not want to inconvenience anyone, but I really need to feed my child. She then asked if there was any other food I could give my child. I told her “Well no, because it’s her dinner. You could have at least given us a heads up about the stove, we have just come back from the shops getting supplies, we could have gotten some matches”. She then finally says “well sorry I didn’t give you that information, I’m sorry” though it didn’t feel genuine, felt as though it was forced. I just told her that I’ll manage, and ended the call. She never called or texted back to find out if we managed ok, even till today.
Thank god for some kind neighbours we managed to get some matches off them, so that we could feed our child.. I will never book another accommodation with this property manager again.
PS: I know that she will reply saying that she did come by the next day (after we left at about 11am) to drop off matches and gas lighter. Thanks, but too late!
I would recommend the house itself, but not the property manager.
