Our group of 10 stayed here for two nights. The house was beautiful, and the view was truly stunning. Unfortunately, we encountered a wasp problem.
The evening we arrived, we did a walk-through of the house and found everything was in acceptable working order. We did find a handful of wasps inside, but all were slow moving and near dead.
The next day, we encountered a few more wasps, which was becoming disturbing. The worst was yet to come. It got quite cold that night, rapidly dropping below freezing at sunset. My friend walked into their room on the end of the hall and found 7 wasps crawling around. We quickly started gathering them up and disposing of them, but they didn't stop coming. We pulled back the bed and found one crawling on the bed, and a disgusting number of dead flies, wasps, and several live wasps all around the floor register. Under this bed we also found two stuck-together socks that can only be described as "crusty". Gross. We went on to find wasps in every bedroom. The rest of our evening was broken up by finding more to get rid of. We disposed of 30+ wasps in total.
The following morning I messaged the manager, Vacasa, through VRBO but got no response. I called VRBO support when I got home, and they got a Vacasa rep on the line who denied having gotten any communications from us as if their technical failures were our fault. I have yet to receive any compensation for our weekend of pest-control duty while they "wait for a local manager".
