We booked this hotel based on a 9.4 exceptional rating on expedia. Pictures online were focused on specific areas and didn't give a whole picture of what to expect, so of course, we chose the one with the highest rating. Not sure who rates these? In our opinion, this is more of an average motel/cabin style. We adjusted our thinking and learned to enjoy our stay. The lady at check in was delightful, the guy the first 3 mornings seemed miserable and didn't really respond when spoken to or thanked. The bathroom is very small. The sink area is nice. We were informed that housekeeping is not automatic and on a request basis, yet they have envelopes on the desk in room for tips for housekeeping. The air conditioning did not cool the room enough, even when following instructions. It advertised that breakfast was included only to discover it consisted of oatmeal, toast ,pop tarts, coffee and water. The only things we found great were the extremely warm pool and that the doors didn't need keys, just codes.. We set our minds to enjoy the Tucson experience, but wouldn't stay here again and feel the '9.4 exceptional' rating is inaccurate.and misleading. A hotel that advertises breakfast included, usually is attractive as saves money on a trip, especially for extended stays, so the very kiddie oriented breakfast was a disappointment.We were disappointed from the first night, wished we could have changed hotels, but as we booked as a flight, hotel, car package, we weren't able to.

This motel has a lot of character, lots of opportunities for guests to interact. But if you just want a good night’s sleep this is not the place for you. The bed wasn’t very comfortable, too much light in the room, sirens from ambulances can be heard throughout the night (nothing the hotel can do about this). The towels and tub in the bathroom looked stained, there was a hair in the bathtub, and someone’s leftover drink was in the refrigerator. The next morning the housekeeper tried to enter my room as I was just getting out of the shower. Fortunately I had the latch on, or she would have gotten an eyefull. The hotel gave me a credit for this inconvenience, but housekeeping here needs a lot of improvement.

It's a 60's experience with a modern sensibility. The staff and communication from the motel are uniformly warm, thoughtful and welcoming. My spouse was taken with the murals on the buildings, which invite reflection, contemplation and some laughter. If you're looking for something beyond vanilla, chances are you'll be charmed by your experience at the Hotel McCoy!

I liked the funky vibe - the art, the games available, the quotes on the outside of the buildings. Also, the heated pool was terrific! The room was clean and comfortable. But the dining options near the hotel were really limited (if you wanted to walk).

Nice stay.

The hotel was what I was expecting as far as its unique vibe. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. The oatmeal bar was good. The location of outlets in the room was not convenient. My sister needed medical equipment for sleeping and it was difficult to find a space for it close to an outlet. That in turn left phones to be charged across the room with no surface for them to sit on.
