We loved our little home for a week. It was clean, comfortable, attractive, and well-stocked with kitchen supplies, towels and bedding, games and books, and laundry facilities. Everything worked - plumbing, air-conditioning, kichen appliances, wi-fi, etc. The plunge pool was fantastic! It seemed, however, like more than 200 hundred steps to the beach, especially before we figured out how to unlock the stubborn gate. But the short walk was well worth it - the beach was incredible: miles of practically deserted pristine sand! Twice, we watched baby turtles being released into the sea from the hatchery down the beach, and every evening we watched an incredible sunset. Junquillal is a quiet little community with a handful of houses and resorts. There are a few local restaurants, and a small grocery store within walking distance of Casa Mora. We cooked our own meals at the casa, and found everything we needed at the supermarcado. Everyone, from residents to tourists, was friendly and helpful. Unless you like to surf, have a car, or feel comfortable taking a local bus (we went to Tamarindo by bus and found it quite esay) Junquilla has few entertainment options. It's a wonderful place just to relax, walk the beach, or play in the surf.
