"We landed on the beautiful island of Portland by chance and were immediately enamoured. It's a very beautiful, special place and surprisingly also a good starting point for exploring the Jurassic Coast. The cottage is very lovingly furnished to a very high standard, but what we didn't realise (and can't be seen in the photos) is that it is really, really small. Not suitable for families with small children or people with limited mobility due to the narrow and steep stairs. But we are not, it was fine for us, we had a wonderful time. Many thanks to Alison, our lovely hostess! And folks, park your car right at the entrance to the village, where it says "pay here" - the only car park without stress and with enough space in the village - and free of charge."
