We found this listing when looking for a good place for our large family Christmas gathering. 10 adults and two kids. This place fit our needs beautifully, and it was nice to be in a Christmas themed town. The house was decorated for Christmas and there was lots of room for gifts under the big tree. We got to eat at the Brazen Bull, and had brought food for other meals and bought some at the local grocery store because we know places would be closed for the holidays. The new Prairie Rose was open for brunch but we didn't have a chance to check it out during this trip. We attended a candle light service at a nearby local church which was lovely. The hosts were always very responsive and when we asked about services and events in town, they gathered flyers and information about events in town for us to view when we arrived. The upstairs rooms do have the high ceilings and walls don't go all the way up, as noted in other reviews. Not an issue for us except sound carries easily, so earplugs are a good idea if you go to bed early. We ate all our big meals at the large dining table, and played games and did puzzles at that table and the one in the breakfast nook. The "child's room" is a great coat and shoe closet! The downstairs was cozy and perfect for kids to hang out, especially in the mornings. The beds were comfy, except the pull out bed. The bathroom sinks were pretty high up, so a step stool might be needed. Overall an amazing stay and we would love to come back!
