My grandmother and I came to Washington, D.C. for a 6-day trip. We had originally had a different place booked, but due to an unforeseen emergency at that property, it was cancelled, and I was left to find something new within a day of our travels and found this!
Home Sweet City, was quick to respond to our request, answered questions and checked in on us via messaging periodically during our stay. We had an issue with the smart TV in the bedroom connecting to the internet. I messaged them around 7:30 pm and they messaged right back suggesting we unplug the TV, which worked!
There was a handwritten note, a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine awaiting us when we arrived. Very personalized.
The unit was very clean and had everything we needed. There is no stove, but there is a toaster oven and a small hot plate if needed. It had laundry facilities, towels, and extra pillows and blankets.
The neighborhood was quiet, and we were 500 ft. from a commonly used bus stop, which is what we used to get around town. On a typical day, it took about 15-25 minutes to get to downtown Washington, D.C.
There is a family that lives upstairs, but for the most part, we were able to tune out the sounds of their daily living. They have a child (perhaps around age 4-5) that we could hear laughing or playing at times. On Friday and Saturday evening, they enjoyed their deck in the back of the house, which is right above the bedroom. It wasn't obnoxious, and they retired inside around 10:00 pm
