So interesting to stay in one of the ârow house neighborhoodsâ of DC. It was clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the family spaces and the laundry appliances and the air conditioning! We were further away union market and the âmallâ so we used Lyft and door dash for groceries and take out. The app said we were minutes away but it was about a 25-40 min ride.A couple of Lyft driver said that this used to be a neighborhood that wasnât safe but we felt safe and another couple of drivers said that it is changing fast. You can see that they are starting to be fixed up. I was so enchanted by these charming row houses. The inside looked like the pictures on the app, even better!
Perfect DC Getaway is an ideal place for adults to stay. The neighborhood was quiet, with some cannabis activity on the corner. Conveniently located with short walks to bus stops. If you are riding the bus and you need groceries, I would recommend Whole Foods Market at the corner of H St NE and 6th St NE. The local food mart had a very limited selection of items.
This was a great choice to stay except it was a little far from sights near the mall. We finally figured out the bus system which helped. The parking at the rental was very convenient.Everything we needed was in plain sight in apartment, comfortable beds, very clean
The apartment was really nice. You could tell a lot of work went into it. The neighborhood was eclectic. It looked like an up and coming neighborhood. The owner was really nice.
If you were used to living in DC or city life; this rental would probably work for you. It would make a good long-term rental for someone doing contract work in the DC area. But, this is marketed to tourists and most tourists are uncomfortable in unfamiliar areas that are on the âshady sideâ. During our stayâ we saw active drug activity/selling on the street corner. Homeless persons, trash, and noise of people coming/going throughout the night were also a concern. I would caution families with children from staying here. There are better places to rent in better areas for less than 50 more per night. You could not have asked for better communication with the host and I truly wish him the best.
Property was as advertised. We had a slight problem on check-in but the host was responsive and had the problem fixed by early the following morning.
The apartment was nicely updated and comfortable.
Our family had a trip to Washington planned and booked through Vrbo for a condo apartment for our stay. Initially, we were very happy when arriving at our place . Unfortunately, the first night we were there one of our kids went to go to bed in the bedroom, and there were tiny ants all over the baseboard and the floor of the one bedroom. I notified our host right away and the option to submit for a refund as I indicated, I couldnât stay there. I was afraid that the bugs would get into luggage belongings and beds and our said he would process for refund.
I was forced to go to a hotel, a very high price as a last-minute reservation.
I have connected with the host who keeps giving me the runaround about a refund. Iâve then reached out to Vrbo directly and still, Iâve had no confirmation.. Our family vacation that we were so excited about Was a nightmare and no one seems to care! Very disappointing!!
I stayed here on an extended work trip to DC. The apartment was nice with lots of amenities and updates. Good public transportation options to get to Capitol Hill area. The neighborhood was a little loud at night, but nothing super abnormal if you are used to living in the city.
The apartment itself was fine, exactly as expected. However, There was no TV reception the entire week. I unplugged and replugged the modem repeatedly, as suggested. Neighbors towards Montello partied out in the street all night, every night until past midnight. Very loud, drinking and smoking marijuanaâŠso much that we could smell it upstairs in the apartment. I paused each time we had to walk up or down toward the bus stop, to keep the comments about my grand daughterâs hair, etc. entire area littered with trash and empty bottles each morning.
The apartment interior has been updated very nicely - big and spacious. However, this is a pretty rough part of town. One Lyft driver said âI grew up in North East DC and I donât even come hereâ and told me to not walk the neighborhood at night or by myself.
Had significant issues with the wifi the first two days and was finally fixed the last night of my stay. A few things with cleanliness like used bar of soap left in shower and about a quarter inch layer of dust on the top of the fridge (opened cabinets above fridge looking for batteries and got dust all over my sleeve).
Apartment was cozy but the beds were pretty uncomfortable. I slept on the couch.
Good price point but wouldnât stay in this area again.
The condo was in a nice part in of town and was perfect for our needs. Very clean and comfortable. (The neighbors were friendly, too.) We will definitely recommend this unit to friends and family who need a place to stay in DC!
Great place to stay! Large for DC. Location is a little iffy
Beautiful apartment. Was so impressed with a 2 bedroom apartment at the rate it was. Clean, had the amenities listed. The neighborhood was probably the iffy part. Lots of âcat callingâ my teen girls. This is not on the property owner at all, just something to consider when staying here if you have children, especially teen girls. We would stay again, despite the neighborhood.
The property was super clean and close to a lot of places we intended to visit.
The host is very communicative and helpful.
Would recommend to friends and family.
