The property was poorly managed with a long list of faults. These were pointed out to the letting agents, their response was very disappointing. Here is the list, decide for yourselves.
When we arrived we found the recycling bins full of rubbish and no bin bags were left. In order for us to use the cottage we had to go shopping for the following,
Hand soap
Shower gel
Dishwasher tablets
Bin bags
Larder cupboard supplies, salt pepper, oil, silver foil & kitchen roll
Plus most importantly oven gloves.
The cottage is marketed as a luxury cottage, the above supplies should be included as is with other cottages that we have rented even in Covid times. To arrive and find the cleaners have left a jay cloth and two dishwasher tablets is an insult.
The walls are marked and scratched around the house, and the carpets are stained. The property is well used and not kept up to. We found the following faults.
There is no water pressure upstairs when water is used downstairs.
The heating is constantly on, thermostats do not seem to work properly and we had to open doors to cool down. In this current climate this is not a green approach and is very concerning.
The door mats supplied are slippery and dangerous, they are an accident waiting to happen.
The washing machine has a drying function that does not work
The dishwasher plate rack is broken.
The duvet in the downstairs bedroom is far too small for the duvet cover.
The fridge door storage rack is missing, presumably broken, making storage in a very small fridge even more difficult.
There is no where to put your clothes other than a few coat hangers, we therefore had to live out of our suitcases.
There was no light bulb in one of the bedside lamps.
The toilet brushes are totally disgusting.
