Our stay in Saba was spectacular! The cottage is charming, comfortable, functional and ideally located above Windwardside. It was a perfect home base for our daily hiking, and diving activities. We cooked most of our meals and found the kitchen to be well equipped including pots, pans, skillets, utensils, spices, etc. The house is located very close to two grocery stores that we found offered a great selection compared to many other carribean islands that we have visited. The matress was extremely comfortable and the house was never too warm due to a constant breeze. We enjoyed the cool breeze in the evening. The bathroom is functional and even had an ample supply of shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The island, cottage and people we met made me feel as if I had traveled back in tome to a bygone era. The diving was good and the hiking spectacular. We did not rent a car, but probably will on our next visit so that we can explore more of the island. The car rental facility is right down the hill from the house. Be sure to hike to Mt. Scenery, enjoy a dinner at Tropics, visit Saba lace and learn about the amazing history of the "Saba Lace Ladies" who continue to carry on the rich tradition. The island is impeccably clean and we did not encounter one homeless animal (very different from many of the islands we have visited). Jeff is a warm and friendly host who we enjoyed chatting with. I highly reccomend visiting Saba and staying at Althea cottage!
