Christmas Family Getaway
This property is beautiful and the host, Emily was outstanding! It was a very peaceful stay that allowed our busy family the chance to relax and connect. We spent hours at the fire pit talking, listening to music and enjoying each other’s company. This home has picturesque views and undeniable charm.

Adorable and inviting home
The house and surroundings are gorgeous! Fully stocked, welcome basket, very clean, inviting!! Unfortunately though, it was the worst place we have stayed at as far as the beds. Twin bed was noisy and uncomfortable, other twin was decent. Full bed in 2nd room was better but not great. Main bedroom queen bed was extremely uncomfortable!!! It had a noisy spring underneath so ANY time you moved it made sounds so my husband and I kept trying not to move. It fell in towards the middle so we kept having to lay toward the outsides trying not to smoosh into each other and it was lumpy. We had a wedding the next day which we were exhausted for because we literally had no sleep. Then the following night was the same with no sleep trying to drive home 7 hrs on empty. The house is fantastic. The owners need to invest into some decent beds that don't make noise and are a "little comfortable" at least. Sleeping is a main reason for having to rent somewhere so for your vacation or stay you are resting for the events you are there for. It was WONDERFUL except for that, but that's a biggie for us...

Wonderful Stay
We so enjoyed our stay at this home. The owners were kind and generous with information and a welcome basket. The view of Cook's Wall from the house was fabulous in the late fall. At Cory's recommendation, we hiked the Cook's Wall trail at Hanging Rock SP and it was so fun to be able to reverse the view back down to the house. (Awesome hike... just what we were looking for and highly recommend!) Thank you, Emily and Cory for hosting us. We had a great time and would gladly return.

I was sceptical when I saw the picture. You don't see the gorgeous view this property actually has! Stunning to say the least. The huge backyard that offers total peace & privacy was a blessing! Very nice firepit & the incredible starry sky added to the experience. The house itself was immaculate. Super clean. Super comfy. No worries if you forgot to pack anything. It was well stocked. Totally recommend this place. Being able to have our fur babies with us was a must.

Best place ever!
As soon as you walk into this beautiful house, you feel welcome! The house was very clean, and full of comfy furniture. The kitchen had all the amenities and lots of extras! We like to cook, and this kitchen had everything we needed. The back yard is a football field. Perfect for our 2 Corgis to zoom around! The patio furniture and firepit allowed us to look at the fall leaves and enjoy the surrounding nature. We will absolutely return to this lovely location!

Exceeds Expectations!
We booked at the last minute to replace a cancelled trip to the NC mountains after Hurricane Helene. We didn't expect to find anything special so close to our travel dates, and we had never heard of Hanging Rock, so we crossed our fingers and hoped for the best. What luck! This property is AMAZING! It feels completely secluded and private, it has so much character and charm, and the local trails/parks are just as exciting as the ones in the Blue Ridge Parkway. Even better, it's the CLEANEST Vrbo we've ever stayed in, AND we didn't see a single bug inside the entire stay. There isn't a thing lacking in the house, the firepit is lovely, the old homestead is fascinating, and Emily and Cory are immediately responsive and helpful. My husband wants to move in, and our two teen girls are already asking when we can go back. HIGHLY recommended!!

A Slice of Country Paradise
My biggest complaint is we couldn’t stay longer. I love the secluded feeling of the home but it’s centrally located to do many things with just a short drive to multiple destinations. We we hiked to all the waterfalls of Hanging Rock and climbed to the top of the mountain for a scenic view. I highly recommend visiting the Divine Llama winery and Green Herond brewery on the River. Don’t forget to hike pilot mountain too.

Peace Be Still
We were comfortable, safe and secure during a mostly rainy get away visiting family in the area for birthday celebrations. The neighborhood was quiet all the time; a deer family of 4 stopped about 25 yards from the front door to graze; the luscious green grass and manicured landscaping created lovely scenery to view from the inside out. We couldn't enjoy the backyard or fire pit due to the weather. There was plenty of space inside to spread out and relax. All the pictures on the site are accurate; information about the home, surroundings and guest expectations is plentiful and easily accessed. Many thanks to our host, Emily!

Peaceful retreat
This was our third stay at this beautiful home and hopefully not the last! Excellent communication with the hosts, the house and property are beautiful and immaculately clean, and the surrounding area is fun to explore. The beds are extremely comfortable and we were able to get some much needed rest and relaxation. My kids enjoyed running around the spacious yard, making smores, catching fireflies, and playing games.

We traveled to the area for a family wedding. The home was in the perfect location. The property was spotless and so well maintained with all of the conveniences of home If there was anything we needed I knew we could contact Emily. We enjoyed sitting outside on the patio enjoying the views and peacefulness of the setting. It was the perfect place to unwind from the festivities and enjoy our time together. We had a great stay, the house is beautiful & we instantly felt welcomed & at home. The welcome basket & sweet note was such a thoughtful touch. The property is stunning, the views were just lovely & the old homestead outback was nice to see. The location was quiet, private, country feeling but very well lit which was great at night & walking the property was very enjoyable. The house was very easy to find, check in was a breeze & Emily was a fantastic host & responsive.
