Our daughter was moving into the Uni accommodation so this house was fantastic in its location. It has everything we needed to stay for the week. My only slightly critique is that for a family there needs to be more towel rails and/ or hooks. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils and to cook
Overall, the property is in an amazing location. Right next to the University of Wollongong and the Botanic Gardens and only a short ride (bus or car) to the CBD.
The house itself has many good and bad qualities.
Pros:
Beds are extremely comfortable
Multiple washers and dryers
Large living room TV and TVs in each bedroom
Large kitchen and living space
Cons:
The house shakes during strong winds, which wouldnât be a problem except for the fact that this is a WINDY city.
The windows in the house are decades old and as such lose heat and rattle very badly when there are winds.
The dyers also do not dry very quickly, I had to run it multiple times for one load of laundry.
The couch is VERY uncomfortable, as a 5â7 woman I sink into it, but my 6â6 father had it even worse.
The property manager/owner is very hard to get in contact with. It takes hours, sometimes days for a reply via her number or the VRBO app. This made checking in very difficult.
The house is also bare except for toilet paper and paper towels. Nearly everything food wise has to be purchased by the guests.
Overall, most of the issues are small (minus the windows which provide a large problem when sleeping). This house is ideal for a large family and provides great access for UOW students.
A last minute need for XMAS night you wouldnât expect a great property to be available. This place met the need was comfortable and easy to access. Grounds may need some TLC but for a short stay was all good
