Inner town, lovely position

Although our rooms were on the small side everything was so well designed and exquisitely put together. Beautiful artwork and pictures of the mountain. The position of the hotel was good, taxi service needed each day to transport to ski lifts. Staff needed to up their skills on being more friendly.

The hotel was in a great location and an easy walk from the train station. The room was good size. The cleanliness of the room was, in our opinion, not at the caliber we would expect. The floors and bedding were questionable.

Perfect Stay in the Heart of Zermatt

Hotel Tannenhof exceeded our expectations! This boutique gem is centrally located, making it easy to explore everything Zermatt has to offer. John at the front desk was fantastic—offering great tips, guidance, and even booking dinner for us. We stayed in Room 37, a spacious family-style room with a patio at the top—highly recommend! Best hotel of our trip so far, and we’ll definitely be back!

Hotel was super nice. The room was modern and clean. The staff was friendly. The breakfast had many delicious items. Breakfast room has view to the Matterhorn. There are many restaurants and shops close by. Steps to the Matterhorn museum and viewpoint. Everything is really walking distance.

This property is very nice and very serviceable. The Golden Lok restaurant on the hotel property is wonderful with the restored and gilded locomotive engine from 1898 Gornergratt Railway. The food was excellent too!

Very impressive room and lobby. Staff was very friendly and always available to provide tips on sights, etc. area around hotel was noisy in the very early mornings as workers on nearby properties began to work. Also was a bit difficult to find the hotel at first.

Newer, modern hotel with an elevator. Friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast included. Pizza at the onsite restaurant was excellent. Only downsides are the room was fairly small and shower while it was spacious with lots of hot water and great water pressure, it’s very slippery. With a king-size bed it’s tight. But bed was comfortable. Bath towels were bigger than most. About a 6 min walk to train station. If you want newer with modern comforts this is a great choice.
