When I arrived at the hotel, there was no one at the reception to check me in. I tried calling the phone number and ringing the bell, but no one came until another guest went into the staff area and knocked on the doors.
Eventually, the receptionist appeared, but he seemed very confused. I immediately got a strange feeling about him, but things got even more unsettling when I entered my room in this so-called “four-star” hotel.
The room was smaller than what I had booked and was filthy. I reluctantly went back to the reception and said I couldn’t stay in such a dirty room. They then gave me a room that matched the size I originally booked and was in slightly better condition — though still unclean and far from what you would expect from a four-star hotel.
The balcony furniture was unusable due to layers of ingrained dirt. The bathroom had mold, and the air conditioning unit was leaking water onto the bed.
Solo travelers, take note: the room doors do not have peepholes, and the locks are very weak. The hotel refused to cancel my reservation, so I ended up staying there.
The food was decent, and the rest of the staff were absolutely lovely and friendly — except for the man who checked me in. He also handled my checkout, and while I was there, a young woman was checking in, and i had to witness situation where her told him that it was unprofessional to ask her out.
