Decent hotel in a very nice part of the city. Very easy to get around and plenty of dining options and grocery store nearby. The elevator did not always work and the bathroom is very small (with the sink in the living area). But overall it was good value for money.

The staff were great when checking in and overall our stay wasn’t bad. We just ended up with one thing after another happening that made our stay somewhat unpleasant, especially for the price of the room in comparison to other stays we had on our trip. The elevator wasn’t working, which we understand as things happen. We had a drunk person knocking on our door around 4 am which is out of the hotels’s control but still annoying as we ourselves didn’t in until around 2:30 am. Then at 9 am, we had someone with a keycard knock briefly and then come into our room, which again, had a late night and was trying to squeeze every minute of sleep in. Lastly, we noticed some pretty damaged flooring near one of the beds but found it real quick it was due to a leaky (using that term loosely as it was much more than a trickle) sink that caused us to cover the floor up with towels to soak up the water and then having to blow dry my shoes from the water. Also, there was quite a bit of sawdust that was all over the mirror and sink area that wasn’t cleaned up from whatever work they were doing. I’m not generally picky but it was just one thing after another that made it less than pleasant. I will say though, the ambience of the room itself is cute, generally clean and the bed was comfy!

Melrose Hotel was overall an excellent stay! The rooms are slightly small (which was expected) however were very nicely maintained. The staff was readily available and accessible, greeting you at the front door each time. Location is perfect with some coffee shops on the street and an at most 20 min walk to most things to do in the city. Definitely would come back!

One Day in Amsterdam
The hotel itself was ok , very good located , close to bars , restaurants..very helpful and friendly staff , the main issue that I found with the hotel was the parking , advised that has parking available but found out that uses a private parking Qpark , very expensive cost us £44 pounds per day .. apart from that was all good

Great Hotel
Great Hotel - we would definitely return. Loved the area, the Jordaan area with so much going on right outside. From tasty Thai restaurants, a great supermarket, bakeries, bars - it’s the perfect spot to stay. We literally walked all over Amsterdam from the hotel, never needing a tram or taxi. You can walk from central station in 15/20minutes. Anne Franks House is just a 10 minute stroll - it’s a great position. Our room it self was fine. Beds comfy, pillows comfy (did ask for extra) towels etc changed daily. Facilities all good - my only small gripe was the fact we couldn’t open a window for fresh air. Yes there’s air con which was a god send on the hot days. But at night I don’t like sleeping with that on. Also there’s no extractor in the bathroom, so it definitely gets stuffy. The colour changing lights in the bathroom was a funky little extra. Staff were always welcoming. We didn’t book any excursions or transport from reception, but it’s all available & easy to do should you wish to. Overall, a great little hotel, very well priced & as mentioned, we would definitely book again should we return to Amsterdam.

The location for this hotel is the main reason for staying, as it is very overpriced for the rooms, facilities and services. I would not recommend staying here. We had problems with aircon, the safe which would randomly buzz throughout the night, very noisy, and even an incident happening in a room next to us which the staff would not comment on.
