Well where do I even begin. We chose this hotel because my daughter wanted to go to the island water park. When we first pulled up to the hotel The outside wasn’t well maintained at all. There was cigarette butts blunt wrappers all over the place at that point if I could have got my money back I would have. We enter the hotel and I wanted to ask the gentlemen, at the front desk if our room was ready and maybe we could Check in early, he was so rude before we even got to the desk to ask and right away dismissed us. When finally checked into our room it was so old and dingy looking this hotel couldn’t of been Update since 1985, at least that’s what it looks Like anyway. Almost everything was out of order as well. Needless to say I would never stay at this hotel again even if they were giving away free rooms. My next trip I’ll stay at Ocean way more upscale.

They need to upgrade the rooms . the elevators the ice machine didnt work on my floor nor did it work on the 2 floors below or above me smh...it should be cheaper to park also there is nothing posted for check out that you can just drop your key in a box in the lobby an leave .

It is understandable that the property Showboat is an old hotel, but the property as it is advertised to be a children’s hotel is not safe, I had to change my room three times. Staff was very understanding. The locks did not work in the rooms, rooms were joining which I did not request and unsafe for my child, rooms were dated and reeked of smoke. Very unsatisfied with my experience even though staff was very accommodating and friendly I felt very unsafe with my child.

Noone ever answers the phone no matter if you call from the hotel phone or your phone. Every department I tried to call ie front desk, bell desk. The bathroom had mold all over the handheld shower head. Extremely poor service all around. Lack of food options is ridiculous!! we had to go to other hotels to eat. Games, Waterpark etc... Extremely overpriced and not worth the money or the time. I am handicapped and went to the Waterpark with my husband and niece and I had to pay full price regardless of the fact that I cannot walk. Upon check out the nice girl at the front desk sent my information to management so they can call me regarding all the issues...I never received a call...not at all surprised. I won't recommend this place to anyone and I will never step foot in there again!!!! Absolutely Horrible Experience!!!

The staff are friendly. The hotel seems clean I'm the area. However the rooms are so outdated and the chair in the room was disgusting. The rugs are even worse. Very dirty and the walls and doors as well. For the price paid this hotel should be in better condition.

we called 3 times for maintenance due to no hot water. The next day we still had no water. Not to mention the big dog in the room across the hall barking all night. They finally moved our room the next day after still no hot water and then that tub constantly filled with water when we used it so our feet were taking baths. The property said that they would refund me the first night, but I still have not received any refund from Expedia

This stay was our second year. We did see some changes but overall there is still so much work to be done. Love that you can bring your dogs! I think the concept of the hotel (indoor arcade and activities) is great. Would be nice if the two spaces that used to be restaurants were opened again as restaurants. The staff was very nice.

We stayed at showboat one year ago and loved it. We stayed in the main tower. This visit we were very disappointed. We were placed in the new Orleans tower. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! The first room we were given had mold on the walls in the bathroom. To their credit, they did love us to another room right away. However our next room, in that same tower, also didn’t appear as clean as someone expects when checking in. The hallways were smelly and the carpets were old. The tower seems outdated and not well kept up with. I hope they will renovate soon or next time I stay there I’ll call ahead to make sure we get in the main tower. Also- I swore at check in I was told maid service was daily. It didn’t happen the first two days so I checked and was told we had to request it. So I requested for that day but still no one cleaned the room. We had no toilet paper left and had trash that needed to be thrown out. Love the location and we will be back, just hoping for a better room next time.

They have definitely cared more for this new water park than they do about the arcade and ESPECIALLY the hotel. Rooms are dated, appliances don’t work, rooms are disgusting and overall I wouldn’t return back

Check-in needs to organized if check-in 4pm that's what needs to be. Check-in 6pm and 7pm is out of line. The room needs to be redone. Charging 150 incidentals is crazy when thing are already broken in hotel room. That really needs to lowered considering this is 2 to 3 star hotel.

I will never come to this resort again… they never pick up the phone so don’t bother calling …. The front desk has little knowledge of what goes on there … the Island waterpark is basically for younger children … we took a 10 and 14 year old and they were bored in less than 3 hours… no use booking tickets online because you still have to check in first and everyone buying tickets to the waterpark are all in the same line just be prepared for a long line ….you can get tickets for the waterpark cheaper on Groupon … the rooms even worse because the doors slam every time you walk in or out and obviously this is all you hear until atleast 1:00am… my safe wasn’t working and a few light bulbs weren’t working in my room … The only good thing was the extremely nice security guard by the entrance where the boardwalk exit door was!
