The owner/manager was very kind. It's obvious he's been cheated a lot and rude guests have damaged property, because he required a $20 cash deposit upon checkout, which would be returned upon checkout (assuming our room would be clean). I have no problem with this policy, but we weren't aware of it in advance. Fortunately, I had taken cash out before arriving.
The room itself and the sheets/blankets smelled. The closet was broken. There weren't enough outlets near the bed for plugging things in. The curtain didn't block out enough light; per my wife, it was transparent enough that she felt uncomfortable.
But, that all said, the cost was low. So, I'm not going to scream at the owner about the conditions like a lady did during checkout.
