It was grotty and run down. The room was tiny and woken in the early hours by glass being thrown into bins numerous times just outside our window. The staff were all very pleasant but we wouldn't stay here again.

While staying here I got bed bugs. Not just a couple of bites ALOT. It’s unclean dates and not quiet at night. I would recommend paying a bit more for better accommodation.

Not again.
Put in a room next to the laundry. Woken up at 8am daily by very loud staff shouting the days orders to each other. They claim to have a pool table, but it's been out of service for two years. The hotel itself was fine but it was not efficiently run nor pleasant to stay at.

Love location,vintage elevator,parking smoking area privided . Didnt like the rooms having no air conditioning, only had one fan ,other fan didnt work and was dirty ,some of the dishes were not clean aswell ,but rest of room was awesome x will stay again

The only issue was finding the entrance to the hotel. You must go down an alley to get in. If you are used to American style rooms this is not the place for you. We had a family room with 3 adults it was cramped but since we were only sleeping & gone all day it worked great. There are lots of hills so bring good walking shoes. The staff was great and very friendly like all New Zealanders. The room & hotel was very clean.

My hotel for Auckland stays. Handy for buses downtown and great for nearby K road. There are a number of steps leading up to the hotel foyer male staff have often helped me with my case/s up them which has been super. Super shuttle normally stops at bottom of drive on Queen street due to difficulty turning around the site so luggage has to taken up a slope to the hotel.Good value but I sure wish they would put soap holders in the showers in rooms with facilities..I find the side facing the park quieter but not necessarily on Friday/Saturday nights. Hotel restaurant once functional has not been open for quite some years and who knows if if will ever open again. Its a common room now.I recommend The White Lady at start of St Kevins arcade in K Road less then 5 minutes walk great for tasty, generous inexpensive takeaways.If you forget something eg a torch , get the bus or walk down Queen Street left hand side as far as Daiso I love that low priced shop.
