Hi, its a nice little room which we got with a small queen or double size which wasnt enough for tall n healthy couple. I have never seen such a worst tv in my entire life lol. Very small , doesnt work properly, no tv remote just box remote, have to call the receptionist to connect the tv. Change the channel and it take 10 to 15 seconds to chnage thats crazy, over all its not at at worth the price we paid. Should be max $125 not $160 plus . Thanks.

Sure it’s an older motel that is due for some upgrades but the room and bathroom and lobby areas were very clean. Staff were very friendly. The continental breakfast was good which included a waffle iron and batter, bread, English muffins and a toaster. Cold cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit and juice, coffee and tea. A completely comfortable stay.

The sword is a great place to stay when in the Bancroft area. Room was clean, staff member Rhonda was very friendly. The pool was good, my son really enjoyed it. The hot tub was out of service but overall enjoyable stay

I stay there weekly for work. We even had a moose on the property for three weeks. I was fortunate enough to see it in person as I've never seen one before up close. Pretty cool

I travelled to Ontario (where I was born) for a reunion with my siblings, one of whom lives in Bancroft. My sister and I drove up from Toronto, and one of my brothers and his wife, as well as my niece and her husband also drove up separately from Southampton and Thornhill, respectively.The 4 siblings hadn't been together in almost 30 years, so it was a very special trip. As well, a half-sister was travelling with her two children, and it had been well over 30 years since we were all last together. We were all booked at the Sword. I booked a room for me and my sister months in advance through Expedia. My brother in Bancroft arranged everyone else's reservations. When we arrived, on August 6, 2024, I expected to pay the same rate as the others, but was told that my rate was higher because I had booked online. For the same reason, I wasn't entitled to the BCAA member discount. Needless to say, I was quite upset because of this. The inn is rather shabby. The glass door on our unit was cracked. My sister found a piece of macaroni and cheese on the bathroom floor. The drain plug in the bathtub didn't work. One of the lightbulbs in the bathroom was out, and I had to ask for a replacement. My brother and his wife experienced problems with the TV in their unit, as well as some other issues, and cut their stay short after one night. It was a very big disappointment.

The carpet smelled really bad, the air conditioner was very old and set up wrong and kept shutting off and the room was getting hot, the bed had stains and so did the couch. The bathroom had no new toilet paper or extra paper. The breakfast was incomplete, don't choose this place because it offers breakfast. They only serve a lot of starchy foods - bread, cereal, waffles, coffee, yogurt, juice, and cold boiled eggs. No hot sausage, no hot eggs, no potatoes, or anything hot. This place was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. I paid almost $250 for one night for a king size room.

Though the rooms need updating they are clean and we had a beautiful view. The staff is always so nice and welcoming. The breakfast is delicious. Have not tried the pool but maybe the next time.
