Concierge staff weren’t particularly friendly. The room had cobwebs on the ceiling and there was still someone else’s shaved hair in the sink. The doors have warped so you have to slam them shut. Strange smell in the bathroom. Environmentally the toilet doesn’t appear to have a half flush and the bath tap would run while the shower head was running.

Our family room at Hotel Astoria was the best we've ever stayed in. Great layout - 2 single beds in one part (why don't more hotels offer single beds in family rooms?), a queen (or maybe king) size bed in another room, loads of storage, a beautiful bathroom with 2 sinks (such a good idea) and White Company toiletries, a mini-fridge and a safe, and a terrace with table and chairs.The beds were so comfy it was a struggle to wake up! WiFi good enough to keep the teen happy. The one downside about the room was the soundproofing from outside in the main bedroom - the street noise was quite loud even on the 7th floor. Didn't stop us sleeping though (those lovely beds). The housekeeping staff were very friendly, the staff on reception were a little more reserved (friendly enough, but less forthcoming). The hotel is very beautiful and smells amazing - very refreshing to come back to after a long day. The pool on the roof is more of a plunge pool than a kid's area, great for couples or teens though. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel, there's lots of food and drink places nearby. Close to Diagonal metro stop and loads of buses. We really enjoyed our stay.

The area was quiet with easy access to transportation, or within walking distance, to many landmarks. There were multiple good options for food and drink nearby. Staff were helpful.

The hotel is located in a lovely part of the city that is a bit away from busy touristy areas. It is located very close to a subway, which makes visiting various city sites very easy. It is a walkable distance to several Michelin star rated restaurants. The hotel impeccably clean, and quiet, and the front desk staff is polite and helpful. The building is historic, and houses a small gallery of cartoonist Ricard Opisso, which adds to its charm. The only drawback was the "pool," which was the size of a large hot tub. It is located on the hotel roof, which is a cute spot for gathering but crowded. The "gym" was also very bare bones - essentially a small bike and treadmill in a tiny glass enclosed room. Overall, I would highly recommend it!

We really liked this hotel, it was conveniently located in the nice shopping district, but close enough to the Gothic Quarter to get there on foot (if you don’t mind walking for a while) The staff was excellent, the pool was a little small but fairly nice there in the roof. There were a small amount of ants in the room though which were a little annoying, (I have to add we never mentioned that to the staff though)

Lovely spot near Gràcia which is a great neighbourhood to wander round. The pool rooftop was lovely and a real lifesaver in the heat! And the staff were great - really nice and helpful. My bedroom was pretty comfortable but the bed and decor could have done with a bit of an upgrade; it didn’t live up to the photos I’d seen beforehand. I found the building to be noisy, mostly all the pipes and extractors making lots of noise. I don’t know if I just got unlucky in my room or if that’s the case everywhere! I did appreciate the inside screen door which blocked out any noise other guests were making though.

We had a nice stay here in a family room which consisted of a separate room for our 2 grown kids. We also had a nice balcony with a table outside. Very roomy for the price! We did have a few tiny ants in the room (yes they were only ants) but they didn't bother us. We would stay here again.

Beautiful mix of modern and classic Catalan
Family of 4 and our 2nd time here in Barcelona. we spent a night in the family suite. Super comfortable, clean and we had a beautiful terrace! Restaurant had a pre fix menu for 18 euros that was great. Location is unbeatable as well, next to everything, restaurants, rambla Cataluña , paseo de gracia! We are coming back in a week and we are not staying here only because it was sold out already! Loved this hotel And will definitely recommend it !

Service was a little rude. I had food delivered after a long travel day and got a phone call from the front desk basically yelling at me telling me to come get the guy because he couldn’t come up to the room, which is fine…but no need to be rude about it. The rooms and hotel are pretty dated. I don’t think it’s worth the price I paid and wouldn’t return.
