There were ants on my bed. The staff changed the bed sheets, but there were still ants. The room was really dirty. Someone had smoked and left ashes on the side of the window. The building is very badly maintained. There was mold everywhere. I put my suitcase against the wall and it became white. The window didnt have a safety bolt. When i asked for a refund they refused. Overall i wouldn't recommend to anyone to stay there.
Staff was trying their best, but seemed uneducated in hospitality. Barging into my villa without even knocking is never appropriate.
The whole place seems to be under renovation and should be closed.
Breakfast was ok, but the staff didn't understand to keep the items hot, just left the lids open.
Dinner was a very limited emergency selection in a 2 hour window.
I checked out a day early and moved on...
The main lobby was moldy everywhere. Just lift your head up and look at the ceiling. Our villa was not as bad but still reeked of mold. Bathroom, kettle, bed sheets all had black mold. Fortunately we slept quick and woke up to a fly swarming breakfast. Just stuck to hot rice and lentils and checked out. Bedugul is super humid but the property maintenance did not help.
The interior was super clean. The exterior could do with new paints on some villas. It was very cold during the night though (outside temp down to around 15°). No heating pad, no heater. So make sure you’re properly clothed.

Nearly there. A nice stay.
A lovely location and very helpful lovely staff. Breakfast buffet was varied. Stayed for dinner one evening and food was good then too. The hotel have a shuttle to the temple which was a surprise and very kind of them. They helped organise a driver for one full day who turned out to be the best driver we had all holiday.
Only downside was the damp in the room. There was no air conditioning and i think this didn't help the damp and black mould in the villa. Just needs drying out a bit and cleaning up the mould and it would have been perfect.
If you want to escape the heat and humidity near the beaches this is the place. It's cooler up in the mountains, the view is spectacular and -no- you really don't need A/C. The Balinese come here on their weekends. I did not see any of the other problems other reviews complained about except a trace of mold on the ceiling but no moldy smell so it didn't bother me. Room was clean and surprisingly spacious.
Dirty linen and smelly rooms. FULL of flies and stains

Location is good. However, the cleanliness of the accommodation was subpar. There was a lizard in our room not to mention under the bed had not been cleaned for quite some time.
Car and driver to drop us places was great
Buffet breakfast had lots and lots of food fruit was great
Bed ok units need repair work but functioned
Great location
Towels nasty bed linen ok bed ok
Town house extra space very nice
Room service terrific
Hotel is good , very comfort.Located at the center of Badugul town , walkable distance to mini marts. Just that the restaurant is a bit on high hill , nevertheless staff was friendly and able to drop you to the restaurant with hotel transport. Overall weather is cool and enjoyed my two days stay with my family, will recommend for others👍

A bit bland. Restaurant was average. Location average
We booked a room for 2 nights. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a room in a 3-room 2-floor villa which we occupied alone - the other two rooms were locked. It had a spacious sitting area downstairs and a smaller one upstairs. Also a large balcony with lake view.
The room was clean, the private bathroom small but functional. We would have appreciated a bit more space between sink and toilet. The room and the downstairs sitting area had flat screen TVs with international channels.
There also was a small concrete backyard. The door to this did not lock properly and sprung open during our first night, which caused a bit of alarm. However, the fault was repaired the other day, so no problem during the second night.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, not only with the door issue. They help organising day trips and transport to the next hotel. The staff at the restaurant was very friendly, too.
The breakfast buffet was great - Balinese and Indonesian food as well as Western style treats. Unfortunately the dinner menu in the restaurant had next to none local dishes.
The area is rather noisy - for which the hotel cannot be blamed. A lot of dogs barking, some cats fighting, and we had some neighbors coming home noisily late at night. Surprisingly we had a much quieter stay in the centre of Ubud. But there is a lot to see and do in the village itself (water temple, botanical garden) as well as around it, so it is a good location for exploring the area.
The villa was top notch the staff and room service was great. The location is in the city so it’s easy walking distance to anything around town including the temple.
The toilet smells. Rooms full of bugs! Avoid at all cost. Cold environment.

We do not recommend this hotel
The approach to the hotel is down a lane off the main road. The reception is very smart. As seems common when the hotel is nearly empty we were upgraded.. This meant we had a terrace on the upper floor with a partial lake view.
Now the negatives. The villas are on a sloping hill behind the reception area. Ours was about Half way up the hill. The restaurant was at the top. On our second day our key-card failed to open our door not once but twice. The second time was at 9.30 at night. It was 80 metres down to reception to get it sorted and of course 80 metres uphill and wait for a lad to arrive on his motorbike to fix the problem. To have this happen twice in a day shows the use of faulty technology.
The wifi worked occasionally but then would not function for hours.
We had read of a free shuttle that would take us to the botanical gardens but the girls at reception denied it.
Finally the hot water tank in the bathroom is very small. Be careful if you are the first person to shower or the second person will have a old shower.
Booked 2 nights, cut our losses & left after 1. It was so noisy!! Poor little dog in a cage no bigger than itself barking all night, people passing shouting and building work on another villa opposite started about 6.30am. Why they are placing guests opposite their building site is beyond me!!
Room was incredibly small, not enough room for cases, I had to climb over them to get into bed. Bathroom was a tiny wet room, nowhere to hang towels to dry & none provided for the 2nd night when we returned from our trip (toiletries were so housekeeping had been).
We were placed in a 2 bed villa with one of the rooms locked so we were unsure if other guests were going to share so had to cram everything in our room. No safe, had to keep valuables on our person as the locks on the windows were not working properly. Kitchen unusable as plugs mounted above the window so couldn't be reached.
Restaurant service was very slow. We were the only ones there & it took them a long time to bring our food, which tasted like it was out of a tin. Worse meal we had.
The villas are beautiful but they have any ventilation and they are very humid plus moisture at the wall base. Our blanket was si humid then I had a very bad night,
Nice place to stay, would be happy to recommend. It can be a little cold but that's bound to happen when your in the hills. The restaurant menu was a bit bland but there was a large selection for the buffet breakfast.
